You may export the results in csv or exsel formats
To sort the data you have to click at the names of colums in some reports (you may sort by Traffic, Cost, Position)
The best way to have your site included into SEMRush database to be in the Google search results. We work only with Google SERP. If your site is not presented in Google Top20 for at least one of 35 million of most popular and expencive keywords SEMRush knows, we will not include it into the database.
At the moment, you can get data only for the major domain.
It’s possible that the letter is in the spam folder. If it is not, please contact our support service.
SEMRush works with Google only (Google.com and a number regional versions of Google)
SEMRush uses 35 million most popular and expensive keywords. If the keyword you are looking for is not presented in our database, that means that the word isn’t included in this 35 million according to US version of Google.com. Nevertheless, we are planning to expand the database, so it is highly possible that after some time your keyword will be included in it.
Apart from the US version (Google.com), we have already launched Russian (Google.ru), German (Google.de) and French (Google.fr) local versions of SEMRush, and we plan to continue our work towards regional versions of the service. We are currently studying the market, and if you are interested in creation of any local version, please inform us.
SEODigger is closed. Instead of it we have launched new product with advanced features, namely SEMRush
SEMRush does not generate random keywords, unlike other sites do. What we do is statistical analysis of occurrence of keywords in results for thematic clusters of sites.
Keywords are different in these reports. They may look the same, but they are different. In "Potential ad/traffic buyers" (Organic to AdWords competition) you can find sites that buy AdWords on your keywords. But in "Potential ad/traffic sellers" (AdWords to Organic competition) you can discover sites with visitors that are the same with visitors from your AdWords campaign (keywords which you buy AdWords).
It is possible, that we use different versions of Google (SEMRush uses US one) or we work with different Google Data Centers. Also, remember that SEMRush database is updated periodically.
You may use SEMRush on any computer, as all features of your login are available wherever you are using it. We do not have any limits or checkups.
To pay via PayPal is quite simple - all you have to do is go here: http://www.semrush.com/prices.html and click on the "order" button next to the price of the tariff you’d like to order, after that fill in the form and follow the instructions.
All information on traffic that you can find on our site is based on Google.com and it is only Google SE traffic.
"Potential ad/traffic buyers" and "Potential ad/traffic sellers" are services, which buy AdWords for those keywords that the domain under analysis has in Organic search and sites ranked in the top 20 in the Google organic search for keywords that the site buys in AdWords. This means that it may be profitable for you to place your Ads at sites from one list and place Ads of sites from other list on your resourse.
Yes, our registration is Free. Being registered user of SEMRush you will get more opportunities, than unregistered, but you will still have limits. For example, you will get 10 results per request, 10 queries per day. If you feel the shortage of data, available for you on free account, you may upgrade here: http://www.semrush.com/prices.html.
If you are a paid user and still can see only ten results, it is highly possible, that you are viewing AdWords report and your current tariff is "Light". "Light" tariff does not give you an opportunity to view AdWords information. Currently, it allows you to view 1000 results in Organic. To see more results on AdWords, you have to upgrade your account to "Pro". You may do it here: http://www.semrush.com/prices.html.
The main advantage of our service is in the opportunity to know, what keywords your competitor use for optimization, your potential traffic buyers and sellers, positions of your site in Google organic results and AdWords. If you are novice, our site may be useful for you to collect longtails and keywords for your site’s optimization and you may study your competitors’ rankings. Our service is more convenient, because we have one interface for all researches and we sum up all information. You may find not only Organic statisics, but AdWords, and see the intersections.
The diffrerences may be caused by typing in your requests in different format. For example, if you type in the request with "http", you get the URL report, which is less detailed. If you type the same request without "http" you will get report on domain, which contains more information.
You may investigate long-tail keywords for any domain this way: Enter the interesting domain into the search line, then go to the Organic Keywords report (e.g. http://www.semrush.com/info/bestbuy.com+(by+organic)), export it into Excel and sort by position. You need positions from 10 to 20.
You may get hidden related (and low-cost) keywords to optimize your AdWords campaign this way: Go to the Related keywords report, click on the "full report" button at the Related keywords, you will get here: http://www.semrush.com/info/secured+loans+(related). Now, sort results by CPC. You need those with the lowest CPC.
Is CPC cost estimated for the #1 position or for the position that the site is currently showing in?
CPC is the average price of a click for the AdWords ad for this search query, in U.S. dollars
All searches made by our users are private.
The related keyword tool is supposed to find related keywords that are longtail as well as those, that are not (and that do not contain the phrase as well). The problem is that not all longtails may be included in the list for several reasons.
Yes, you can get AdWords keywords your competitors use. You have to type in the domain of your competitor and click at the AdWords keywords. I have to warn you beforehand, that the data at SEMRush is updated periodically, and sometimes some words are absent in AdWords stats because at the moment of the last database update the AdWords for this or that campaign may not be shown because of Geo or Time targeting or low CTR.
Yes, it is available. You’ll find the exact match search report in any keyword report (the link at the left, "Phrase match report": http://www.semrush.com/info/icelandic%20band+%28full%20search%29?db=us)
These are the most significant advantages: Pro users at SEMRush have an opportunity to make 3 000 requests per day and get 10 000 results per query, whereas Free user has a limit of maximum 10 results per query. You also have an opportunity to observe AdWords statistics, meanwhile this feature is unavailable for Free users. You may also export results into Excel or CSV and view your requests history. Here you may find the information of features, available on different tariffs: http://www.semrush.com/prices.html
There is no way to hide keywords from SEMRush, as well as to remove your domain from the database.
"Competition" shows the activity of advertisers in AdWords. That means that the higher is the number, the more difficult and expensive is to buy traffic on this keyword in AdWords.
SEMRush data is updated periodically, and the situation may have changed since the last time we formed the database. At the moment of the last update some AdWords keywords may not be shown because of Geo or Time targeting or low CTR, and now they are absent in SEMRush database.
SEMRush does not give you an opportunity to reveal the Time and Geo targeting that your competitor uses in his advertising campaigns.
Cost % is percent of the whole cost of traffic on the keyword given that the website receives. That means that we take the cost of the traffic on each of the keywords of the domian, sum it up, and then we calculate the part of the cost for the exact keyword. If the site does not have adwords campaigns going on now, then Cost % will be calculated due to the tariffs on this keywords according to AdWords. For example, one site gets organic traffic from the words "bjork", "medulla", "iceland", "sugarcubes", but does not have AdWords campaigns, so to know the cost we will take the AdWords statistics on all these words and sum it up. Actually we represent the picture that like the site has all these words in AdWords.
Traffic % shows the percent of traffic, which the site under analysis receives for this exact keyword from the total amount of traffic for common keywords. If the percentage of traffic on common keywords is more than 100%, that means that the competitor receives more traffic on common keywords, than the website under analysis. E.g. 124% - 24% percent more.
We removed this parameter from SEMRush because of inaccuracy in calculation of these figures.
Actually, we can not show you the exact amount of visitors that a competitor gets for a keyword. What we show is percent of traffic for one keyword that a site receives from Google US relatively to all traffic that the site gets for all its keywords from Google. E.g. if you see 10.8% next to the keyword "tree" that means that 10% of all traffic that site receives from Google US for all it’s keywords it receives for the keyword "tree".
SEMRush doesn’t make rankings of your site better, but it provides you with information, necessary for the achievement of good positions in Google if you work on this matter.
Yes, you are right. Digits from Average volume column are similar with Google Keywords Tool and represent the Exact search.
Some keywords come up several times because these words were found within Google US TOP20 for different URLs that belong to the site under analysis.
When your subscription is over, the status of your account changes to "Free" automatically. Free users do not have access to AdWords information and have less searches per day and results per report. If you are satisfied with the service, you may return and pay once again. You may also subscribe to the tariff with the recurring billing option, which will be automatically renewed each month. In case you’d like to cancel your account, you may stop recurring and you will be no longer billed, and again the status of your account will be changed to "Free".
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with this information. Possibly, you will find useful a tool at www.seobook.com
With the premium account you can access and export more (up to 10k) domain results and perform more queries per day. The databases remain the same.
There are two ways: you can wait for updates or you can contact us to get your own version of SEMRush.
You can contact us to get your own version of SEMRush.
The source of keywords statistics is Google Keyword Tool.
SEMRush examines the top 20 results of Google search for 25 million keywords. It uses the US version of Google.com.
If you see a difference between SEMRush and the actual SERP it could be due to several reasons: SERP depends on the Google Data Centers you work with. Google has so many Data Centers that it is likely that we are working with different ones. SERP depends on Regional Settings. SEMRush recalculates the Index once a month so it is possible that you have received information from a previous situation.
For each keyword we multiply traffic (for keyword) by CPC by CTR (for sites position). Traffic cost =Traffic*CPC*CTR
We work exclusively with Google SERP and use only the US version of google.com. If your site is not present in Google – it means that we can't find your site.
The next update will be completed in the near future.
Registered users can perform more queries per hour and will receive notifications of updates. You will also receive the history and export feature.
You can do this here. If you want to upgrade your account but the limit of your current payment hasn't expired yet, please contact us.
You may stop the recurring for your current subscription by clicking at the "Stop recurring" button at your profile page.
