  1. Search line – type in a domain name, URL, or keyword, choose the appropriate database icon, and press “GO”.
  2. Indicates the regional database being accessed for the domain or keyword report. The search results for each are analyzed in respect to geographical location and language targeting (keyword databases are different as well).
  3. The report's main menu – provides access to various reports for the domain or keyword being analyzed.
  4. User menu – accesses your profile information: payment and query history, API information, and current subscription level.
  5. Switch for access to regional databases – provides quick access to data from available international Google databases.
  6. Report's data for the domain. All blue links lead to further reports for URLs or keywords.
  7. Full report link – replicates the link from the main report and presents the full report for the query.
  8. Export icon – enables one to easily export all data in one file for a report - .xls or .csv.
  9. Help icon – provides assistance for the use of the page data.
  10. Interface language options – choose any available language.
  11. Number of results in the report.
  12. Graph showing trends for a specific domain – click on it to compare trends for multiple domains.
  13. Common statistics for the domain, including: data for rank, SE traffic, and AdWords traffic costs.
Enter a domain name into the search line and press “GO”. Here is an example of the report generated for the domain The main report for this domain contains summaries of all reports available for To discover what keywords this domain ranks in Google's TOP 20 for, click on the "Full Report” link under either the "Organic keywords" report or the "Google keywords" link in the left menu ( (by organic)). The full report reveals over 1.3 million keywords for which gets traffic from Google SERP; including: their positions, number of queries per month, relative costs, and so on. These results may be sorted by keyword positions, traffic percentage, or the estimated cost of targeted visitors coming to this site via Google search results. This data may also be exported and analyzed with any program you like.
Similarly, to uncover what keywords pays for through Google AdWords, check out the "AdWords Keywords" report. This report identifies all the keywords associated with the site's AdWords campaign: (by adwords). All of this data is also exportable.
This is really simple to do with SEMrush. In order to find keywords worthy of attention for site optimization, first query the domain name, access the report on it, and follow this process... Using the domain as an example, we access the report “Organic Keywords" Then, export this report (using the export icon in the top right corner of the report), open it in Excel or any other program, and sort it by position in reverse order. This is easy to do. As a result, we now have the list of keywords for which the site has enough high ranking positions to warrant optimizing for them. This is also the easiest way to collect long-tail keywords for your domain.
Imagine you're in the flower business (perhaps you have an on-line store, or a flower blog, etc...) and you want to find appropriate keywords. Begin by searching the keyword "flowers”. The main report for this keyword,, shows: how much a click for this keyword costs in AdWords; the average number of searches for it; and the competition of AdWords advertisers for that term (the higher the number, the greater the competition). Also, note the “Trends” column. It shows changes in the volume of searches for this keyword during a certain period of time.
To access more phrases that include this keyword, open the "Full Search" report, (full search). Currently, there are over 57,000 keyword phrases returned through SEMrush for “flowers”. This report provides data relative to the average number of queries per month, CPC values, and the number of search results for each phrase. It's also possible to export these results and sort them in Excel or any other program you might use.

If you want to get related keywords for "flowers", access the "Related Keywords" report (related). This report reveals queries that are similar to "flowers"; for instance, "roses", "floral", "mother day gifts", and so on. There are currently over 9,200 related keywords in this report, which can also be exported.

The easiest way to find the best keywords for AdWords campaigns is to uncover those your competitors are using. To do this, access the “AdWords Keyword” report for a domain that purchases ads for this keyword. For example, "" (by adwords) and copy all the keywords that "" buys in AdWords (currently over 47,000 keywords). You may easily export them into a file. So that you don't waste your time trying to learn how these terms have been implemented, SEMrush also enables you to check out the actual text of the ads your competitor is running: (by ads).
Simply search SEMrush for your domain and access the main report for it. To get the list of competitors who use the same organic keywords, click on "Competitors in Organic Search": ( (by organic_organic)). To get the list of competitors using the same terms in AdWords, click "Competitors in AdWords": ( (by adwords_adwords)). To see exactly which keywords both you and a competitor are using, click on the number in the "Common Keywords" column to pull up the full report relative to each competitor. "Competing organic keywords" ( vs (by organic_organic)) or "Competing AdWords keywords" ( vs (by adwords_adwords)).
Main report
The main report shows samples of the various reports available. You can use the links on the left side of the page to switch between reports. You can also click the "Full report" link under each sample to pull the complete listing of results for each.
By clicking on any of the keywords listed, you can access an "Overview of Keyword” report for each. You can also access data for any of the URLs listed by clicking on them to get their full reports.
Through the “Competitors in Organic Search” or “Competitors in Ads” reports, you can access lists of those keywords your site has in common with other sites by simply clicking on the numbers in the "Common keywords" column.

Organic Keywords report
Example: (by organic)
The organic keywords report provides data relative to those keywords for which "" ranks in Google US TOP 20. The positions cited are based on the moment of the last database update. This data may be sorted by: Position, Costs, Traffic, and competition.
Ads Keywords report
Example: (by adwords)
The Ads keywords report reveals keywords "" buys through Google US AdWords. This report details data on each term's: Position, CPC value, Cost%,Traffic%, and competition.
Competitors in Organic Search report
Example: (by organic_organic)
This report supplies a list of domains that rank for the same keywords as "" in Google US TOP 20. The second column shows the number of keywords that the domain listed has in common with the domain being researched. Clicking on a number in this column will bring up the entire list of the keywords the two sites have in common.
Competitors in Ads
Example: (by adwords_adwords)
This report contains a list of domains that purchase the same keywords as "" through Google AdWords. The second column shows the number of keywords with domain listed has in common with the domain being researched. Clicking on a number in this column will bring up the entire list of the keywords the two sites have in common.
AdWords ads texts
Example: (by ads)
This report shows the actual text that "" is running in its AdWords ads. This enables one to see just how keywords are being implemented into ad copy.
Organic report for URL
Example: (by organic)
This report for a URL contains a list of keywords that the URL ranks for in Google US TOP 20.
AdWords report for URL
Example: (by adwords)
This report for a URL contains the list of keywords that this URL purchases through Google AdWords.
Main keyword report
This report serves as an overview of the reports available for a given keyword. The menu on the left-hand side can be used to switch between the full reports provided.
Phrase match report
Example: (full search)
This report reveals search queries that include the keyword (phrase) being queried. Use this report to get new keywords for your optimization or AdWords campaign.
Related keywords report
Example: (related)
his report contains keywords related to the keyword being analyzed. Use this report to get new keywords to use in optimization or for your AdWords campaign.
** Note: Don't be surprised if you find big sites like "" in reports. This happens because Google shows them due to large percentage of queries.
Each domain report comes complete with a little graph (on the left-hand side of the screen) that shows changes over a certain period of time for the domain being queried. Clicking on this graph will bring up an advanced, full page version which enables one to compare several different trends for a number of competing domains through colorful, informative graphs.

You can export any report by clicking on the appropriate icon in the upper right corner of the report. There are 3 formats available for export - .XLS , .CSV и .CSV (MS Excel). Data is exported with saved sorting.

SEMrush rank is a rating of sites based on the estimation of the following indexes:
* The volume of search engine traffic relative to a site.
* The cost of the site's traffic generated from Ads in AdWords relative to the organic traffic the site receives for the same keywords.
