What is a Good Keyword Density Percentage?

This is a point most debated amongst many who implement keyword density techniques in their articles. In general, anything over five percent is seen by most to be quite a high keyword density percentage. This does however depend on the length of the keyword or phrase. Obviously, you aren’t going to have two or three keyword phrases appearing as much as one word keyword. Therefore, for the sake of argument, I would look for my single keyword density percentage to be around two to four percent, although I never write any articles with the intention of reaching that goal. Sometimes, blog posts and articles with seemingly low densities have received just as much traffic in some cases as ones with very high keyword densities. Choosing keyword density also has to do with the amount of competition that an article has in a specific keyword field on search engine pages.

A good way of knowing the keywords that are included in an article is by using Google’s Keyword Density Checker. The tool enables you to check the amount of hits you get on a monthly basis in order to keep an eye on the competition.

So, if you are going to write an article, you should probably check your keywords before to make sure you don’t use the ones that are overused.
