Knowing everything your purchase includes is very important for you to be able to make full use of your product. You wouldn’t want to buy a car without knowing all of the features it offers and how they work, right? Same thing goes with your SEMrush account.
By understanding your SEMrush account's features and capabilities, you can take stronger hold of the data we offer.
Requests in SEMrush
A request basically serves as a search. If you typed in a domain and were redirected to the Domain Overview, that would be one request. However, if you were to click on the traffic number listed under Organic Search from the Domain Overview, this would then be a second request.
Each time you go to a different report within SEMrush, that serves as an additional request. Here are the limits for request broken down by subscription:
- PRO: 3,000 Requests (3,000 searches a day)
- GURU: 5,000 Requests (5,000 searches a day)
- BUSINESS: 10,000 Requests (10,000 searches a day)
Results in SEMrush
Results are what show up for your query. For example, if you go to the Organic Positions report for a domain, each keyword would count as a result. The amount of results that would be displayed with each search would depend on your subscription. Here are the limits by subscription for results:
- PRO: 10,000 Results (10,000 Results per search)
- GURU: 30,000 Results (30,000 Results per search)
- BUSINESS: 50,000 Results (50,000 Results per search)
The other important note about results are what results you receive. For example, if you were to enter a domain in the Advertising Position Changes report and you were subscribed to our Pro package, you would only be able to the first 10,000 results. Also with exports, you would be limited to the first 10,000 results. If you would like more results, you would need to either upgrade your account or purchase a custom report. PDF Reports (Scheduled and Branded)
The PDF limitations within your SEMrush account refer to your capabilities within the My Reports section. Every account has the ability to create as many PDF reports as they wish. However, depending on your account, you can only schedule a given amount of reports. Here are the limitations for scheduling your reports by package:
- PRO: 5 Reports
- GURU: 20 Reports
- BUSINESS: 50 Reports
This means that you can only have a certain amount of reports set to be delivered at a given time. By understanding these limits, you will be able to determine how you can best manage your clients or projects.
When it comes to Branded PDF reports, this option is only available at the Guru level or higher. Pro level users will be unable to remove the SEMrush logo from their reports. SEMrush does provide a white label option, however, this is only available as an add-on to our Business level package. Historical Data in SEMrush
Only available to our Guru level users or higher, Historical Data allows you to see past data on any query you enter within SEMrush. Our database goes back as far as January 2012. Pro users will only be able to see our live data. Users can access this data through the Live Data box in the top right of your given report.
Our Projects section can serve as a valuable resource for any digital marketer. Through various tools offered within the Projects interface, users can find powerful information to effectively structure their digital marketing campaigns. Here is a Quick Tips video to explain:
Based on your subscription level, you are only allowed a certain amount of projects:
- PRO: 5 Projects at a Time
- GURU: 50 Projects at a Time
- BUSINESS: Unlimited Projects
If you ever run into the situation where you need more projects, you have the ability to either delete a project to free up space or upgrade your account.
Social Media Profiles
The amount of Social Media profiles you are able to use within your account coincide with the Social Media tool. These would be the various competitors you are looking to track within your Social Media campaigns. Here is the breakdown by subscription:
- PRO: 50 Profiles Amongst Your 5 Projects
- GURU: 100 Profiles Amongst Your 50 Projects
- BUSINESS: 300 Profiles Amongst Your Unlimited Projects
Let's say you have created a Social Media project in which you are only tracking Facebook and Twitter. If you were to add two competitors who both have Facebook and Twitter, you would have used up six profiles. Each competitor would have two profiles along with the two profiles you added for your own domain, to give you a total of six profiles.
Pages to Crawl
The amount of pages your account is able to crawl come down to your Site Audit projects. The amount of pages will be how many pages your Site Audit projects can crawl all together. Each package comes with a total amount of pages every month that a user can crawl. These pages do not roll over each month, however they reset. Here are the limits by subscription:
- PRO: 100,000 Pages per Month
- GURU: 300,000 Pages per Month
- BUSINESS: 1.2 Million Pages per Month
Once you use up your total amount for the month, you would either need to wait until next month for your limits to be reset or to upgrade your account to receive more pages. So when you are conducting your Site Audit campaigns, you will want to keep this in mind to not waste your limits.
Keywords to Track
Just like the other tools within our Projects interface, our Position Tracking tool has limitations as well. These limitations come in the form of keywords. Each subscription provides a total amount of keywords you can track within your account. Here is the breakdown by subscription:
- PRO: 500 Keywords Amongst Your 5 Projects
- GURU: 1,500 Keywords Amongst Your 50 Projects
- BUSINESS: 6,000 Keywords Amongst Your Unlimited Projects
You will also want to keep these limits in mind when doing your reporting. If you ever run out of keywords you can always remove individual keywords, remove any projects or upgrade your account.
