Semrush is looking for a highly skilled Senior Blog Editor to join our Editorial team and deliver content that helps us achieve our organic growth goals.



Our ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of SEO and possess excellent editing and writing skills. They will have the ability to manage external writers and agencies, and liaise with product managers for our various tools on a regular basis. We are seeking someone who knows what makes great content and possesses excellent project management skills.



Key responsibilities

  • Review content to ensure it is factually accurate, well-structured, and engaging

  • Proofread and edit content produced by your teammates and external writers

  • Serve as an exemplary writer creating genuinely useful, unique and engaging content from scratch or updating existing content

  • Project manage content creators, designers, product marketing, SEO specialists, and external influencers and industry experts to publish relevant and helpful content that meets the needs of our audience

  • Manage the daily workflow, assign tasks to external agencies and writers, and monitor deadlines and budgets

  • Track relevant metrics on a weekly and monthly basis to make recommendations for improving processes and performance

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and user challenges in order to follow a more effective editorial calendar



Job requirements

  • Strong writing and editing skills (5+ years of experience)

  • Relevant experience in an SEO, content marketing

  • Editorial experience in one or more internet marketing topics: SEO, paid search, social media marketing, content marketing

  • Proven experience of managing a team of external writers and agencies

  • In-depth understanding of what makes content successful depending on goals and proven ability to transform any piece into a great one

  • Strong project management and organization skills

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, with multiple and changing priorities

  • In-depth knowledge of how Google ranks content etc.

  • Good experience with CMS platforms (i.e. Wordpress) and Semrush

  • Knowledge of using Grammarly, Canva and project management tools such as Trello or Monday.com is a plus

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • A passion for and a strong understanding of the industry

  • Native/near-native English
