What Is Sales Tax? Why Is It Collected By SEMrush, Inc.? Question

Sales Tax is a consumption tax typically collected by the seller from the buyer at the time of the sale, usually by applying a percentage rate to the taxable subtotal. The seller is typically responsible for remitting collected tax to the government entity.

In the United States, Sales Tax is placed on the sale or lease of goods and services. Sales Tax is collected according to the state where the property or service is delivered by the seller to the customer.

The SEMrush Corporation's place of business is located in Pennsylvania, USA. According to Pennsylvania's Tax Law, we collect Sales Tax from customers who are residents of this state.

If in your Profile, or in your form of payment, you choose USA and Pennsylvania as your country and state of residence, it will impact the cost of your recurring subscription, as a Sales Tax rate of 6% will be applied to your payment.

If you choose USA and Pennsylvania as your country and state of residence when purchasing other SEMrush products, such as a custom report, Sales Tax will be applied to your recurring subscription with your next payment, if one is due.
