What is sales tax? Why is it collected by SEMrush, inc.? Question

Sales Tax is the consumption tax collected by the seller (SEMrush) from the buyer (you) at the time of the sale, by applying a percentage rate to the taxable subtotal. The seller is responsible for remitting collected tax to the government entity.

In the United States, Sales Tax is placed on the sale or lease of goods and services. Sales Tax is collected according to the state where the property or service is delivered by the seller to the customer.

The SEMrush Corporation's has places of business located in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Texas within the United States. According to state tax laws in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Massachusetts, we are required to collect Sales Tax from customers who are residents of these states.

If you choose USA and Pennsylvania, Texas, or Massachusetts as your country and state of residence when purchasing a regular subscription or any other SEMrush products such as a custom report, Sales Tax will be applied to your recurring subscription with your next payment, if one is due.
