We're happy to introduce the latest Brand Monitoring tool update: you can now track backlinks!
This new functionality allows PR and marketing specialists to interact with new mentions more quickly and easily. Now promoting your brand in organic search is easier than ever.
First, a few words about mentions with and without backlinks:
Mentions with backlinks
This new option will simplify the process of creating reports. You will no longer need to search for backlinks manually (according to the feedback we received, searching for backlinks is the most time-consuming part of responding to mentions). Backlinks in mentions help users easily figure out if a particular source is good enough to use as a marketing channel via conversions.
Mentions without backlinks
It’s great if your domain has backlinks coming from popular sources. Google has the same opinion, and considers this to be a major ranking factor.
If your brand has been mentioned in a post on a reputable source but this mention doesn't contain a backlink, you can now contact the author and ask them to add an anchor text link.
Now that you’re well–informed, let’s take a closer look at the new tool’s functionality!
To find mentions leading to your domain that contain backlinks, you'll need to specify your domain using the new ‘Backlinks’ filter, which can be found on the ‘Filters’ panel. When you create a new project, your project's domain will be automatically used to search for backlinks.
Let’s look at the dropdown menu. You can add up to three domains, which can also be edited or deleted.
There are two types of mentions to be shown: those with and without backlinks. You can also select to view results for both types.
– Show all: by default, you’ll be shown all mentions
– Show mentions with backlinks: selecting this option will only display mentions that contain backlinks.
– Show mentions with no backlinks: selecting this option will show mentions with no backlinks.
Don’t forget to click ‘Apply filter’ to save any changes to your settings.
Mentions with backlinks are marked with the ‘Chain icon’ displayed in a list of mentions to the left, and also at the bottom of the modal window.
