My family have been in the retail and serving customers game since 1922 and so I have been very privileged to have had amazing training in how to forge long lasting customer relationships and really serve customers. We had a department store, chain of 28 retail toy stores, multiple catalogue and direct-mail businesses, a computer sales business, a games console business, wholesale businesses, property management business, property sales and rental business, self-administered pension plan and multiple buying groups. I have also been involved in many technology firsts on a product level, from the Telex machine, FAX machine, first analogue mobile phone, first CD player, first portable CD player and SEGA’s launch in to the UK with the first consumer games console. The first website I sold was for GBP100,000 in 1998, when my client paid GBP20,000 for a product called Webtrends which gave a fraction of the insights that you now get free with Google Analytics. I have worked for software giants IBM and SAP, being involved in business process optimisation through software. Helping a bank reduce its customer institutional clients on boarding from 8hours to 45 minutes, Astrazeneca automate receipt and payment of over 1M invoices a years and the UK Ministry of Defence secure their laptop data with encryption among countless other examples. It is safe to say that serving customers and optimisation through technology is my thing….
